Peter Oti stops Akufo Addo in London

On Akufo Addo's cheduled medical treatments visits to London recently he was taken by a member of NDC UK Chapter Mr Peter Oti.

He was at a cover-up function organised to raise money for Akufo Addo's medical treatments in The UK. Akufo Addo's dangerouse leadership of the main opposition which has raised the security temprature in the counttry, prompted him to go out and protest against the man said to be the most tribalist leader in Ghana's political history.

Lying in the NPP

Lying in the NPP:

AND THE NDC HAS DECIDED

In my piece last week, I commended the NDC for taking giant steps to expand its electoral college to ensure the grassroot take hold of decisions on their representatives in general elections.

INCOMPETENT MAHAMA? MAHAMA?

I haven been thinking. I thought ignoring the invectives of the NPP is the best at this time. But, thinking over and over again, I have resolved to outline what they know as incompetence and what they projected to us as competence over their 8-year rule.

Another Precious And Innocent Life In The NPP Is Gone.

I don’t know but it’s possible that Abubakr Mohammed, a 30 year old boy resident of Asawasi in Kumasi, might have read my last article I published about the troubles in the NPP and had brushed it off as nonsense. Today, he is not amongst the living. As you read this article and an NPP member, you might also brush it off but be careful you don’t suffer the same fate as Abubakr Mohammed. In the NPP now, no one knows who will be next, because the problems that caused the death of Mohammed still persist.

It Is Either A New Voters Register Or War. Nothing In-between.

It is very unfortunate that the NPP is gradually making the issue for a new voters register an “all die be die” matter. From the pronouncements by the flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, to some “small fishes” in the party, it is beginning to look like it is either a new voters register or war. They think Ghana does not have any other choice or alternative. But should it be so?

Some People Are Not Telling Nana Akufo-Addo The Truth

I listened to Nana Akufo-Addo made statements and promises on his just ended “Rise and Build” Tour and I can say on authority that some people are not telling him the truth. For example, Nana Akufo Addo was quoted as saying in Kumasi that in the 2000 elections, then-candidate Kuffour achieved some 72% in the 1st round. In the 2nd round, he achieved 79.5%, which round off to 80%. This means victory for him and victory for the NPP. Let us (NPP) understand that 80% of the popular vote in Ashanti must come to us and he is the next President of Ghana.

Do We Know Why Nana Akufo Addo Got 47.74% Votes In 2012?

Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party got 47.74% votes in 2012 during the Presidential elections. Do we sincerely know why? This same person got 49.53% votes in 2008. Has anybody in the NPP done any proper analysis to know why the votes went down from 49.53% to 47.74% between 2008 and 2012? Or do we still blame Dr. Afari-Gyan and the biometric voters register?

SOCIAL MEDIA NEVER ANSWERS ALL.

The more people make frantic efforts to evolve in the sphere of technology in providing easy access to information across the world to the billions of people, the more it appears morality and culturally acceptable behaviours are thrown away.

RESTORING OUR VALUES FOR A BETTER SOCIETY

Gone were the days when one could bring to order, a miscreant behavior of another's child.

ARE WE SAFE?

In putting this piece together, I viewed the developments from the Aburi area just from behind the Kemp Methodist Junior High School. Indeed, this is not the first. My observation had gone adjacent  the Peduase Lodge as well as far behind the Hillbury hotel.

RIGHTS UNDER A DEMOCRACY

It is important to understand how the electoral commission operates. This is an independent body and a creating by the 1992 Constituency of Ghana. As a matter of fact, the body is given the powers that immune it from the control of any person or group of persons.

FOUNDER'S DAY MESSAGE FROM KWAME NKRUMAH INSPIRED CITIZENS MOVEMENT

We wish to extend our warm embrace to the people of Ghana across the length and breadth of the country and to all Ghanaians living abroad as well as to all Pan-Africanists across the globe.

EDUCATION AND POLITICS

Over the years, the educational landscape in Ghana had changed from one system to the other. The Middle School system had given way to Jenior Secondary School which later gave way to Jenior High School.

ARE WE LIVING OUR RESPONSIBILITIES?

I have observed over the years the attitude with which some people entrusted with positions of responsibility have discharged their responsibilities without any sense of urgency.

THE UNEASINESS OF LOSING AN ELECTION

Over the years, elections have been fought internally and externally. While a section approached the elections with joy, others approached such elections with much pain.

THE ADOPTION OF UNIVERSAL ADULT SUFFRAGE HAS ENHANCED NDC'S DEMOCRATIC CREDENTIALS

The National Democratic Congress(NDC)'s scrapping of the 'Electoral College System' and adopting the 'Universal Adult Suffrage System' for its forthcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries has enhanced NDC's democratic credentials and yet another indication that  (P)NDC is a pacesetter when it comes to democratisation in Ghana and African at large.

A DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR A NATION; NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS.

It is important for every serious nation to have a blueprint that gives a guide to its development. No nation had developed on the implementing of ad hoc measures. When such happens, the errors become more glaring pushing the nation into the abyss.

The Concerned Taxpayers Union deem it fit to add its voice to the issue of the ongoing strike action by some members of the Ghana Medical Association.

A 10 YEAR GIRL ALLEGEDLY RAPED

I commented on our country's child protection system on this platform on numerous occasions. I think it's about time I seek a platform in Ghana , which I can use to help improve the Child protection system in our country.

PROF. J.E.A MILLS' LIFE, AN INSPIRATION

This week we celebrate the passing of an icon that walked the surface of this earth Professor John Evans Atta Mills.

I have known Professor Mills from a distance. Indeed, young then, I did not take much notice of him in the year 2000 when he contested for the Presidency of the Republic of Ghana on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

TALENSI MATTERS, THE BACK TRACKING

As a young man who loves listening, analysing and writing, the outcome of the Talensi by-election, events before and after cannot escape my attention.

NDC UK & IRELAND CHAPTER congratulates B T Baba and the people of Talensi.

The NDC UK and Ireland Chapter congratulates BT Baba for a landslide victory in the Talensi By-elections. We also wish to commend the people for their conduct before, during and after the elections. They have indeed demonstrated once again to the world that democracy has been entrenched in our society.

THE MENTALITY WE MUST BE ASHAMED OF AND CHANGE IF WE MUST MOVE FORWARD IN A BETTER WAY.

I have had the privilege of speaking to some compatriots living outside the shores of Ghana and I got a bit amazed at what they narrated to me. They travelled to meet cities that have already been established. Cities that have occupants who obey the structures so established many years ago.

LESSONS TO BE TO LEARNT FROM TALENSI BY-ELECTION.

The people of Talensi have spoken and so far it appears the various political parties and actors have accepted the political will of the people of Talensi, save some few excuses by some actors why the electorates voted the way they did.
